It's spring once again. Time to get outside and start getting the yard ready for summer. Rake the lawn, pick
up debris left over from the long winter. It's also time to use caution when burning. The grass is dry and
can ignite quickly. With the strong spring wind to help push the fire, a small debris fire can engulf a full
yard very fast. So just a few simple reminders. Don't burn when it is windy. When you do burn, use a
barrel. If burning with a barrel, use a screen mesh on top to help hold in hot ashes. Never leave a fire
unattended. Lastly, never attempt to extinguish a grass fire by yourself. This can be extremely
dangerous and may result in burns or injuries. Dial 911 immediately.

Enjoy the warm spring weather and stay safe.
