EMS NEWS

Spring is here and so is the dreadful spring cleaning. Everyone is coming out of the lethargic
state of a long drawn out winter. The days are getting longer, eventually warmer and people
are finding they have more energy to start working around the house once again. Now as you
grab those cleaning supplies, please keep in mind the chemicals you use. Nearly all cleaners
have specialty uses and are diluted to safe and effective concentrations and usually, are not
to be mixed with other chemicals. Mixing these cleaners does not produce a super hero of
cleaners. Actually, just the opposite can happen. Mixing chemicals can create a very dangerous
and possibly fatal environment for you and your family. When using cleaners make sure the area
is well ventilated. People with asthma or other respiratory illnesses should also observe caution
when using these chemicals. The best thing to do if you feel you are being overcome by the fumes
is to leave the area immediately and go to fresh air. If symptoms continue or get worse, call the
Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222 and 911. When using chemicals of any kind always
keep them out of reach of children as their curiousity gets the best of them.

Have a wonderful spring.
